I’m Benjamin Curtis, Chef and Owner of Rare Earth Catering. My relationship with food started at home, inspired by my family, whose love of good food first sparked my own. What began there, grew into a 25-year career in hospitality; taking me from training as a Pastry Chef to working in hotels and restaurants before finding my way into kitchens as a Chef.

Originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia, I now call the Pacific Northwest home. I’ve always been drawn to the connection between food and place — growing, gardening, foraging and travelling to work with the farmers and local producers who make this region so special.

My cooking is rooted in simplicity, quality ingredients, and genuine care. I believe the best food doesn’t need to be complicated; it needs to be honest, thoughtfully prepared, and shared with good people.
